Daniel Crosby Obituary – Yuma, AZ

Daniel Abraham Crosby, 39, of Yuma, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in his home surrounded by his beloved relatives in Yuma, Arizona. He was born on January 25, 1985 in Yuma, Arizona, Yuma County. His cerebral palsy, a blessing to Daniel’s family, taught us all the true meanings of unconditional love.

Daniel and his surviving sister, Valary Lee Crosby, 38, grew up in Lenawee County, Tecumseh, Michigan. Frank Nelson Crosby (98), the hometown of his late father, Frank Leroy Crosby (69) and his late paternal grandfather, Frank Nelson Crosby (98), is his surviving mother, Maria Cecilia Jantress Bertalan (71). His nickname was Danny Boy.

Danny Boy joined the Milton C. Porter Center for Special Education Services in Adrian, Michigan until 2004. He developed life skills such as spooning his puree food, or fully supervising and drinking independently. Danny was our family’s favorite. We were always so proud of him! He really loved life with his mother in Yuma and visited his extended family in Mexico. Daniel enjoyed being spoken in both English and Spanish. His favorite and only bilingual word was “mama.”

Danny is often passionate about smiling, with puree food (especially pizza!), chocolate milk, movies, reading, car rides with his sister, four pets: the dog “Bear” (14), two turtles, Michigan “Liz” and “Kleb” (7), brother and sister. He was a member of Southern Arizona’s common cerebral palsy in Yuma, Arizona.

He was killed by both maternal grandparents, grandfather, Vicente Orantes 9/20/1991 and maternal grandmother, Paulina Orantes Bertran 2/29/2016, both northern Mexico grandmothers. Servant is offered by the Immaculate Concept Catholic Church, to the blessing of his eternal resting place at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Yuma, Arizona.
