Deadly Oro Valley wreck causes two more crashes, deputies say

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) – Deputies from the Foothills District of the Pima County Sheriff's Office responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of North La Chola Boulevard and North McCarty Road on Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. I rushed.

Upon arrival, they discovered a crash involving three vehicles.

The first one was headed north on La Choya Boulevard, possibly without headlights.

The accident occurred when a second vehicle, traveling south on La Choya, made a left turn and headed east on McCarty Road.

In the aftermath, 18-year-old Gael Carrasco, who was in the first vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver suffered serious injuries, and the other two occupants, one of whom is a minor, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two adults were in the second vehicle and were taken to a local hospital. Officers said the injuries were minor.

The sole occupant of the third vehicle was struck by debris from the first collision, but escaped injury.

This investigation is still ongoing.
