A firefighter recruit, who was expected to graduate in June, has been identified as the deceased individual.
Prescott Valley, Arizona — Initially, reports highlighted wildfires in Prescott Valley, but these have since transitioned into a tragic incident involving paragliders, as per local fire and medical authorities.
At approximately 7:45 a.m. on Friday, emergency crews were sent to respond to a fire reported in the vicinity of Lakeshore Drive and Fain Road. The situation escalated after information surfaced that it was linked to paragliding activities.
Officers with the Chino Valley Police noted seeing a paraglider in Fain Ranch when it seemed to perform an abrupt maneuver before crashing heavily.
The crash ignited a small fire in the surrounding vegetation, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.
Cafma reported that the crews found the fire to be contained to a limited area, preventing it from spreading further. Sadly, the individual piloting the paraglider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The YCSO confirmed that the deceased was 27-year-old Dylan Wallace.
