Alabama Secures Commitment from Four-Star QB Jett Thomalla
Kalen Deboer and the Alabama Crimson Tide may have just achieved a significant recruiting win by securing a talented player who could be a future quarterback star.
According to an early report by ON3’s Hayes Fawcett, Alabama has successfully landed four-star quarterback Jett Thomalla, who was previously committed to Iowa.
@on3recruits Breaking: 4-star QB Jet Tomara reversed his commitment from Iowa to Alabama. 6’4 210 QB from Omaha, NE, had been committed to the Cyclones since April. “All the glory and thanks to God!! 🐘🐘”
Thomalla has been ranked among the top 15 quarterbacks in the 2026 class, marking him as the seventh commitment for Alabama and their first quarterback in this recruiting cycle.
Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Thomalla is considered the best player in his state for his class.
While Alabama may continue to pursue additional quarterbacks, the urgency seems lessened. This is largely due to Kieron Russell’s impending arrival, as he is expected to start for the Tide for the upcoming years. Russell made headlines last season, earning Player of the Year honors in Texas at Duncanville before committing to Alabama around this time last year.
Now, Thomalla aims to follow in a similar path and will likely turn more attention towards himself during his final high school campaign.
Deboer and his team have gained momentum with various prospects recently, but it’s clear that this isn’t the last recruiting achievement for Alabama in the near future.
