DeBoer’s scheduled appearance on Seattle radio station cancelled amid Alabama rumors

As Alabama's search for a new head coach intensifies, Washington's Karen DeBoer is the leading candidate to replace Nick Saban. This comes a day after Oregon's Dan Lanning appears to have withdrawn from the race.

In a new development, DeBoer, who was scheduled to appear on local radio on Seattle's 93.3 KJR Friday morning, will not appear, according to a statement from the station.

Maybe DeBoer knows his name is associated with the Alabama job and doesn't want to answer questions about it and not get in the way of his own program.

However, this is likely how the situation would be handled if DeBoer were to be hired by Alabama immediately today.

Another interesting point is that if DeBoer had NFL aspirations, he would have just started working with the Seahawks in Seattle after Pete Carroll retired.

DeBoer has the coaching talent to coach in the NFL and the offensive mind that pro teams covet.

He could also choose to simply stay in Washington, where he won a national championship in his second year on the job.

Whether or not DeBoer is Alabama's next head coach, he won't be short on options in the coming days.
