Democratic Lawmaker Makes Disturbing Comparison Between Murdered Charlie Kirk and Charlotte Train Killer

West Virginia Democrat Senator Anitra L. Hamilton appears to have criticized Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk on social media following his assassination. In a Facebook post, she suggested that the conservative activists who were active immediately before Kirk’s tragic death were spreading “racism” and “discrimination.” Hamilton compared this to the involvement of 23-year-old DeCarlos Brown Jr., a criminal whose actions led to Kirk’s death, linking it to broader issues within conservative activism.

“You can kill someone on a train and face public backlash, or you can spread hatred and racism without the same consequence,” Hamilton stated. She acknowledged Kirk’s faith, noting that even professing Christianity doesn’t exempt one from racist sentiments. “Using racist language isn’t just a mistake; it’s an act of domestic terrorism against the American spirit,” she added in another post.

Meanwhile, Republican Representative Riley Moore, representing Hamilton’s district at the federal level, called for her removal from the state legislature. He criticized what he described as a dangerous ideology, saying that such distorted thinking could result in violent outcomes like the recent murder of a father. Moore firmly asserted that representatives should not justify acts of violence, urging for the dismantling of the Gender Equity Council at West Virginia University.

Moore later reiterated his points, arguing via a social media post that tolerating radical ideas only leads to tragedies. He expressed that people need representatives who don’t condone violence.

In a tragic turn of events, Kirk was fatally shot during a lecture at Utah Valley University, an incident that Governor Spencer Cox described as a political assassination. The search for the assailant continues. On a separate note, DeCarlos Brown Jr. rose to notoriety after he fatally stabbed a victim on a Charlotte Light Rail train, despite having a troubling past and prior release from prison.

Hamilton, who was elected to the West Virginia House of Representatives in 2023, represents Monongalia County. Neither she nor Moore responded to requests for comments on the situation.
