“In the Senate, barring some sort of recount situation, we’re likely to find out who’s in control of the Senate within the first 24 hours, right? Given the size of the state we’re looking at, that’s important, right?” Pfeiffer asked.
clock:
“Yeah, look, if we officially take West Virginia off the table and the Republicans get that support. Yeah, Ohio is supposed to be a state where vote counting is done pretty efficiently, so Sherrod there. You know about Brown, so if Brown holds on. If not, we’ll probably get a tester later, but if Brown doesn’t hang on, Democrats will have to pull a rabbit out of a hat somewhere, and it’s clear if that’s possible in Texas. I think it’s pretty early to do that,” Kornacki said. “And there’s a wild card in Nebraska. I know I’m not exactly a Democrat. [and] All this stuff. But again, unless something like that happens, if Ohio is a four or five point win for Republicans or something, we’ll know that on election night. ”
Ohio’s Senate race is being contested between Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown and Republican challenger Bernie Moreno, with Democrats pouring millions of dollars into the campaign. Brown’s campaign has spent $86,050,236 compared to Moreno’s $21,310,662, making the race one of the most expensive races in the Senate this term, according to OpenSecrets data.
