Democrats took to the House floor and chanted “shame on you” at Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy as congressional proceedings underway after California Rep. Adam Schiff was charged Wednesday. .
Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna successfully introduced a resolution condemning Schiff’s allegations of Trump-Russia collusion. Six Republicans cast their votes, and the final vote was 213 to 209. The House of Representatives rejected a similar censure motion to fine Schiff $16 million. Mr. McCarthy took a stand to read the motion, but was interrupted by House Democrats chanting phrases like “shame” at length. To the protest, McCarthy replied, “I’ll be there all night.”

Ahead of the censure resolution, several Democrats, including California Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Eric Swalwell and Mississippi Rep. expressed its disapproval of

Mr. Schiff criticized Republicans harshly after they tried to denounce him for the first time. An investigation by special counsel John Durham found many of the allegations against Trump unfounded.
