Democrats Turn to Awkward Stunts as Trump’s Major Legislation Approaches Completion

Democrats Challenge Trump’s Budget Bill

A number of Democratic lawmakers are expressing their opposition to President Donald Trump’s budget proposal, which he describes as “big and beautiful.” Their methods include social media posts aimed at raising awareness and criticism. Recently, members of the Congressional Democratic Doctors Caucus hosted a press conference outside the office of House Speaker Mike Johnson. Interestingly, they donned white doctor coats, yet their event was frequently interrupted by pedestrians passing by.

The Democratic Doctors Caucus, which consists of six members, aims to focus on improving American health and advocating for practical healthcare solutions. The members include representatives from various states such as California, New Jersey, Oregon, Minnesota, and Washington.

The response from some representatives has been mixed. For instance, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries shared a photo on Instagram where he posed with a baseball bat, attaching the caption that House Democrats were challenging Trump’s budget. Reactions on social media to this post varied, with some users critiquing the idea behind the photo.

Virginia Fox, a Republican representative from North Carolina, labeled these posts by Democrats as “low energy” during her comments on the matter. Jeffries’ office has yet to respond to inquiries regarding this post.

In addition, California Democrat Eric Swalwell released a series of videos online criticizing Trump’s proposed legislation, labeling it a “big bullshit bill.” In one particular video, he features a rather humorous interaction with a voter asking if the Vice President is present.

The Democrats’ strategy seems to stem from a recognition that recent polls show declining approval ratings for their congressional leaders, especially concerning Trump’s sweeping tax and immigration policies.

On the other hand, Speaker Johnson has been actively promoting Trump’s budget bill, calling it a key step toward realizing the President’s “America First” agenda. He emphasized the urgency of passing this bill, asserting that it is vital for ensuring a safer and more prosperous nation.
