Legendary actor Denzel Washington was baptized and officially ordained a minister at the Kelly Temple in New York City on Saturday.
Washington addressed the congregation before being immersed in the water, and cameras captured the moment Archbishop Christopher Bryant reaffirmed his faith and dedicated his life to the service of God. said Page 6.
“It took a while, but we’re finally here,” Washington said. “if [God] You can do this for me, there is nothing God cannot do for you. The sky is literally the limit. ”
A video showed him raising his hands in prayer as he was baptized and issued a minister’s license.
In the video, the 69-year-old star was seen wearing a floor-length white robe. He crossed his arms over his chest as he dipped into the water.
“In accordance with the great head of the Church, we baptize you in the name of the Brother, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,” a church representative said.
As church music played to commemorate the event, Washington stood in prayer, his head tilted forward, almost overwhelmed with emotion.
The famous actor juxtaposed his career with his religion and said that he has been nominated for many awards before it was said that “man gives awards and God gives rewards”. He put his purpose in life into perspective by sharing stories from his childhood. He told the congregation that it was prophesied 50 years ago that he would preach to millions of people, and that he was now in a position to do so.

“God is always good. He is with us even when we are not with Him.
