Denzel Washington shocked fans by revealing that he kissed a same-sex man in Gladiator II.

The legendary actor sat down with Gaity on Oct. 31 and was asked about “just how gay” the Roman Empire was. So Washington suddenly announced that she had kissed another man during the filming of the long-awaited movie. He revealed that the moment actually happened, but continued that the footage of the gay kiss will never see the light of day.

“I actually kissed a guy in the movie, but they brought it up,” Washington told Gatey. As for why the scene didn’t make it to the final cut, Washington simply said, “I think there was chicken in it.”

Washington went on to explain how the series of events unfolded, revealing that the deleted scene included more than a peck on the cheek of another man.

“I kissed guys a lot on the lips, and I guess they just weren’t ready for that yet,” Washington said.

“I killed him about five minutes later,” he added.

“‘Gladiator.’ That’s the kiss of death,” Washington joked, recalling the moment.

This isn’t the first time homosexual smooching has come up on this particular film set.

“When I was rehearsing the fight scene with Pedro, I had the idea to kiss Pedro on the forehead towards the end of the scene,” he told the magazine.
