The family is now asking the community to help with the search and to meet at the Hidden Cove RV departure ramp.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Bryan Vazquez, a 20-year-old Yuma resident, was last seen diving in the Colorado River near the launch pad at Hidden Cove RV Park Monday night, according to family members. It is said that it was witnessed by
Officers were at the scene Tuesday morning searching the location where Vazquez was last seen.
But so far they haven’t been able to find him.
According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), the man was five feet five feet tall, weighed about 128 pounds, and had brown hair and brown eyes.
He was also last seen wearing black shorts and had a scar across his chest.
The Floatdown group entered the river near the Ocean to Ocean Bridge and floated to the Hidden Cove RV launch ramp, where they attempted to exit the water, according to the YCSO.
The YCSO said the group was able to reach the water’s edge, except for Vazquez, who continued down the river.
The group said it witnessed victims submerged in water and not returning.
A local resident near the launch pad said he first called 911.
“I came out the front door/gate as a young man was running around my trailer. I called 911 and picked up my cell phone and reported the situation,” said resident Cathy Smith Adams. A person who lives near the launch pad.
A YCSO boat force also remains in the area.
