YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – If you love classic cars and are feeling a little nostalgic, the Yuma County Fairgrounds is the place to be this weekend.
Der Youmans will host the 23rd annual Volkswagen on the River event March 8-10.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to Crossroads Mission.
Gates open at 10 a.m. Friday
This event is open to all Volkswagen vehicles, regardless of make or model. If your car runs, we want you to join us.
“Right now we're just relaxing, camping and having a good time,” said George Manzanares of Dare Youmans. “We bring in people from all over the world, from Arizona, from Yuma, from here and locally. Top 10 trophies will be awarded to the most unique vehicles on display. There will also be t-shirt and family raffle events, and of course there will be delicious food and cold beer available for purchase.
Admission to the event is $2 per day (children 12 and under are free). Admission to the vehicle show is $10, vendor space is $20 and swap space is $10 per vehicle.
Get a driver-only weekend pass for $40. Camping is $30 per night at Fairgrounds RV Camp.
Where to enter:
Due to venue construction, the event entrance will be changed.
- Please use the east entrance at 2 1/2 E.
- Enter through the open gate into the grassy area for spectator parking.
- Follow the signs.
