DHS Cuts Over 400 Employees

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Friday it cut 405 employees from various factors.

The Trump administration focuses on reducing government waste through groups such as government efficiency, providing payments to government officials. The majority of the cuts came from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, where more than 200 employees were left.

Cybersecurity and infrastructure security agencies have made more than 130 departures, but fewer than 50 reductions in U.S. citizenship and immigration services. Science and technology let go of 10 employees. (Related: Oops! Democrats will ultimately help Trump deportation.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, we have made drastic cuts and reforms across the federal government to eliminate the terrible waste and incompetence that has happened for decades at the expense of American taxpayers. “We’re doing this,” a DHS spokesperson told the Daily Color News Foundation.

According to DHS, the cut is expected to bring an estimated $50 million in savings for US taxpayers, adding “value worth towards accountability and cutting off the deficit.”

“The DHS component leads identified non-mission critical personnel to probation status. A DHS spokesman added that other unnecessary positions that do not meet DHS missions and We are actively identifying our offices.

The cut from DHS will provide postponed compensation to federal employees by September 30 if US District Judge George O’Toole Jr. file a resignation notice by February 6th. This comes after the temporary freeze was resolved in the Trump administration’s plan. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Intelligence Reporting Agency (CIA) provided payments to the entire workforce.

“Coach Ratcliffe is moving swiftly to ensure the CIA workforce meets the administration’s national security priorities. These moves inject new energy into the agency and raises its leadership. “It’s part of the overall strategy to provide opportunities for the emergence and provide the CIA with a better position to realize its mission,” a CIA spokesman told DCNF.
