Yuma — Employees at Yuma 1st School District are thrilled to learn that their pay increases have been approved beginning July 1, 2023. Her 8% pay raise that was approved increased overall First School District teacher salaries by more than 40% of hers. Since 2018.

At a special meeting on February 11, the Yuma School District 1 Steering Committee voted to approve compensation and benefits recommendations for the 2023-2024 school year. Some highlights of the approved plans include higher salaries for teachers, higher hourly wages for bus drivers, and the addition of benefits to some support jobs.
