Disturbing Domestic Violence Video Appearing To Show Julio Urias Released, According To TMZ

A video has been released that appears to show former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias committing a domestic violence offense on Sept. 3, 2023.

The video shows the once-respected World Series champion sprinting towards his wife as she turns to leave, then slamming her into a fence after a football game, according to the outlet. TMZfirst reported on the video on September 19. The shocking footage shows bystanders rushing to the scene and trying to help the wife, who can be heard sobbing in the short video clip.

The video shows Urias raising his fist and punching his wife. Bystanders attempt to stop him from hitting her – their bodies block the view, making it unclear if Urias actually strikes. Security guards can be seen rushing to the scene, and Urias appears to be pulled away from his wife before the recording abruptly ends.

According to TMZ, a source familiar with the situation said that at the time of the incident, the woman had blood coming from her nose, strangulation marks around her neck and redness in her face.

Police sources told TMZ that Urias came up behind his wife, put his arms around her and pushed her into the barricade, then began pulling her hair.

Urias was reportedly arrested at the scene shortly after the incident, which reportedly began after he posed for a photo with a female fan outside BMO Stadium following the LAFC vs. Inter Miami match.

The former pitcher was arrested on felony domestic violence charges and ultimately posted $50,000 bail. (Related article: Michael Madsen files for divorce, accusing wife of domestic violence and son of suicide)

He faced five misdemeanor charges and pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault in May 2024. The other four charges were subsequently dropped, according to TMZ.

Urias remains a free agent and is not playing in the MLB as his fate in the league is undecided.
