The Yuma Chamber of Commerce received a grant through the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Main Street Revitalization Program with support from the City of Yuma.

Phase 1 of the grant project was completed with the installation of planter boxes and hanging baskets along Main Street, outdoor lighting, and a new digital sign at the corner of Main Street and Highway 34.
The Chamber has committed to using local businesses wherever possible for this project.
Completing the first phase of this project required a lot of effort by a team with the help of several companies. Hoch Lumber and Jaret Glanz built a planter box and installed it along South Main Street.Local nurseries that provide plants, country Green House, Park Hill Gardens, Ace Quality Farm and Ranch Center, Sweet Pease, and; Megan Black of Farm House Market helping with planter boxes at the intersection of Highway 34 and Main Street.
The Chamber of Commerce also received a grant from the Colorado Garden Foundation to help purchase all plants and flowers for planter boxes and hanging baskets.
The Chamber of Commerce organizes a group of volunteers to help water and tend planter boxes and hanging baskets during the summer.
The second stage of the grant will soon begin. A small pocket park near the water tower on South Main Street is undergoing renovations. The plan is to add an outdoor ADA drinking fountain, add trash cans along South Main Street, and replace the split rail fence with a decorative wall.
In the coming months, several new murals will also be installed near Lake Yuma, the Yuma Community Center, and the Yuma County Fair Grounds. Monica King is working with Lisa Black on a mural project in collaboration with the Yuma Art Society. The goal is for her to complete the project by the end of July in time for the Yuma County Fair.
