FLAGSTAFF, Arizona — A 55-year-old man was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of impersonating a police officer in connection with a minor street assault on Interstate 17, officials said.
Arizona Department of Public Safety A man posing as a law enforcement officer was called near Flagstaff on Monday.
The suspect and another driver were dropped off by the exit ramp. DPS said the suspect approached the other vehicle with the firearm in the holster.
During the exchange, the suspect claimed to be an undercover agent and told the other driver that he could face jail time for obstruction.
When the driver asked to see the man’s badge, DPS said the suspect returned to the car and drove off.
The DPS later identified the suspect as Sean E. Osborne, who was taken to prison on Tuesday. He has been charged with sedition with firearms, intimidation and impersonating a peace officer.
