What makes the deal even more appealing to Flagg is that New Balance has deep ties to his home state of Maine: The all-American company has a manufacturing facility in Skowhegan, just 25 miles from Newport, where he grew up.
“The connection with New Balance means a lot to me because it's a family-owned business with roots in Maine,” Flagg said. ESPN“That's what makes the brand really different and special. When we were growing up, my mom would often go to tent sales for back-to-school shopping, so that really aligns the brand with my roots. It's a perfect fit.”

This is a great deal for three reasons.
- As we mentioned, New Balance has ties to the state of Maine, so why not represent where you’re from through New Balance?
- Unlike companies like Nike and Adidas, New Balance America Adopted “Made In USA” tag
- You can become the undisputed face of the New Balance basketball brand
From where I stand, both Cooper and New Balance are winners right now.
