Dustin David Schellinger Ors was born on July 19, 1984 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona to Christy Schellinger Troutman and David Troutman. Dustin's life has taken him from Whitefish to Missoula, Idaho, and California, but Whitefish has always been the place he feels most at home.
Dustin loved the adrenaline rush and was always full of adventure and positivity. He will make us smile as we remember his wild and crazy antics while skiing and skateboarding. His escapes were numerous and fraught with misfortune. Fortunately, his curly blonde hair, blue eyes, and infectious smile helped save him from many missteps. No matter what Dustin was interested in, his heart guided him. He was passionate and kind and deeply loved his family, especially his younger brother Jesse Orth. They bickered and fought like brothers, but their love and acceptance of each other always won out.
Dustin was officially diagnosed with Huntington's disease in January 2023. This sparked a new sense of adventure in him, leading him to travel to Colombia, South America, and Cambodia. It was there that he chose to spend his final months soaking up the sun and sharing memories with his dear friend Rachel, ending the suffering of this debilitating disease.
Dustin was welcomed into heaven by his mother who passed away from Huntington's disease, his grandmother Polly Scherlinger and uncle Randy Scherlinger, his cousin Brett Scheringer whom he admired and admired from an early age, and his grandparents Cliff Scherlinger and Bill Scherlinger.・And Peggy Michaels.
In Dustin's honor, the Red Road Foundation of Cambodia, founded by Rachel with Dustin's continued encouragement and support, redroadfoundation.org, or the Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018 or send a donation to www. hdsa.org
