FORT HUATHUKA, Arizona — The U.S. Army Information Center appointed a new civilian deputy commander at an induction ceremony at Fitch Auditorium on June 5.

Norman S. Lawrence was formally appointed to this position on May 8 and has developed a coherent and synchronized strategy for planning, implementing, and overseeing the formal training, leadership development, and education of the Army’s military intelligence personnel. It will fulfill the task of developing and implementing.

Maj. Gen. Tony R. Hale, USAICoE and Fort Huachuca Commander, presided over the ceremony.

“Nome’s work has not only ensured that training within the Army Intelligence Service is rigorous and realistic, but has been prepared to provide MI Corps to support the Army in 2030 and 2040. It is well supported by the right architecture, doctrine and organization,” said Hale. “This effort is critical to the information warfare function and will impact the readiness of the entire information force.”

Hale said senior administrative services are selected for their leadership abilities and technical expertise, and because they are the ones who get things done, they are responsible for directing the organization to successfully achieve its goals.

“Mr. Noam is well versed in intelligence and brings a wealth of tactical, operational and strategic experience,” he said. “He was here in his USAICoE for three years, where he served as both my Chief of Staff and Director of Training. The right person with the right experience at the right time to ensure we meet your requirements. [multi-domain operation] Requirements for large-scale combat operations. ”

Lawrence is also responsible for coordinating Command’s community and tenant relations, local, state and federal legislative and environmental issues, as well as developing and implementing strategic communications programs for Command and Fort Huachuca.

Addressing attendees during the ceremony, Lawrence returned to the Fitch Auditorium stage, but this time said it was not realistic to start a career as a civilian.

“I’ve never been more prepared for a job in my career,” Lawrence said. “I know probably 75% of all the leaders at this facility. I know 95% of the ICoE staff. Rather, it knows its mission, its role, and what it needs to do in order to grow.
Lawrence said it was an honor to serve with the USAICoE again.

“More responsibility means serving more people, which means less,” he said. “I look forward to learning more about each command, agency and mission in my position here and working with elected officials, civic leaders and community members in Sierra Vista and Cochise County.”
