El Pomar provides grant funding for Sterling High School multimedia lab – Sterling Journal-Advocate

A $15,000 grant from the El Pomar Foundation to RE-1 Valley School District benefits the Multimedia Lab at Sterling High School. The El Pomar Board of Trustees approved her $62,000 allocated to his seven nonprofits and government agencies in the Northeast region at the foundation’s March board meeting.

Through the Foundation’s grant-making process, grants were awarded to the following organizations:

• Cheyenne County School District (Cheyenne Wells)—$10,000 ADA upgrade for the Cheyenne Wells school concession stand.regional council

• Colorado Ballet (Denver) — $5,000 for local programs.Competitiveness

• Colorado State University Foundation (Fort Collins) — $6,500 for the Yuma Extension Office Dementia Assistance Program.regional council

• Kit Carson Rural Development — $7,500 to upgrade community center public facilities.regional council

• Morgan County Diversification Foundation, Inc. (Fort Morgan)—$5,000 for event space and community kitchen.Competitiveness

• RE-1 Valley School District (Sterling) — $15,000 for Sterling High School’s multimedia lab.regional council

• Community Home Visiting Program (Yuma) — $13,000 for computer upgrades.regional council

Founded in 1937 by Spencer Penrose and Julie Penrose, the El Pommard Foundation has an established legacy of general-purpose grants. The competitive process continues to be the Foundation’s primary means by which organizations receive funding. In addition, over the past 85 years, El Pomar has developed or been commissioned to manage many other funds, as well as presenting merit grants in each region recommended by members of the Trustees and Regional Councils. . Competitive applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

A regional partnership program was established in 2003 to increase influence and establish connections across the state. Each of the Foundation’s 11 regional councils advises the El Pomar Management Committee and recommends grants to support the community. The Northeast Regional Council recommends grants in Cheyenne County, Kit He Carson County, Lincoln County, Logan County, Morgan County, Phillips County, Sedgwick County, Washington County, and Yuma County. Council members are local business, non-profit, and public sector leaders who provide direct access to information currently needed in their respective communities.
