A car crashed while crossing a road in a wheelchair in Brooklyn, New York, on Sunday.

The New York Post reports that a video shows a disabled woman in a green shirt driving into the street. The newspaper reported that a white passenger car was seen accelerating into view and hitting a disabled victim.
The car continued to roll over the victim after the crash, the newspaper said. The driver stopped in the middle of the intersection with the victim under the car. The wheelchair was destroyed in the incident, according to the New York Post.
Police said the victim suffered severe physical trauma. She was taken to Maimonides Hospital, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.
Police said the driver remained at the scene, according to the New York Post. Authorities are currently treating the incident as an accident.
This is not the first time a car accident has occurred in New York. A man driving a pickup truck in Freedom, New York, collided head-on with his sister’s car, killing his sister and two children. Investigators are still trying to figure out how the tragic accident happened, but witnesses say they saw a truck drive into oncoming traffic.
