Former Alabama Crimson Tide voice actor Eli Gold will soon be performing another gig at the collegiate level.
Last week, news broke that Gold would soon be called up to play in the Arena Football League. nashville catsMoney mentioned this morning 105.5 WNSP's opening kickoff said he had also agreed to a contract with a university, but could not yet reveal who.
Gold will remain in the Yellowhammer State and take over TV duties for Gamecock baseball games at Jacksonville State University.
For now, Gold plans to focus solely on baseball, with his first JSU broadcast in less than two weeks, the Gamecocks' home game against Samford on March 19.

like he said AL.comThe plan is for Gold to eventually take on more JSU athletic duties, including football, which could begin this fall.
“I'm looking forward to it. I've known the people at JSU for years. I'm looking forward to working with (athletic director) Greg Seitz. They've been very nice here lately. We’ve made progress, including winning a bowl game last year,” Gold said.
Mr. Gold was removed from his post in Alabama after 36 years in a decision that was deemed mutually unfair. Chris Stewart will begin full-time commentary for the Crimson Tide this fall.
