Billionaire Elon Musk has reportedly donated a “significant amount” to a super political action committee (PAC) that's helping former President Donald Trump win the 2024 presidential election, anonymous sources told Bloomberg.

Musk has been known to use his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), to voice concerns about the integrity of the election regarding President-elect Joe Biden's campaign and to criticize the corporate media's tactics that have led them to turn against the billionaire. Additionally, The Wall Street Journal reported in May that Musk was involved in an ongoing elite campaign to convince influential corporate executives nationwide not to support Biden for reelection.

After the June debate, there was turmoil within the Democratic Party over the decision to keep Biden as the party's nominee, as concerns about his mental health and his declining approval ratings led to growing calls for the president to step down. But lawmakers were not the only ones voicing their opposition to Biden.

According to a new report published Friday by The New York Times, major Democratic donors are pausing an estimated $90 million in contributions to the largest pro-Biden super PAC until Biden drops out of the race. Despite concerns and urgings, Biden and his associates have repeatedly said he will remain in the race, and the president has called on Democrats to “run against him” at his party's August convention.

Cryptocurrency and venture capital heavyweights, as well as former Democratic donors, voiced their support for the former president at a fundraiser hosted by venture capitalists David Sachs and Chamath Palihapitiya in early June. Trump's visit to the Democratic stronghold of San Francisco ultimately helped the former president raise $12 million, though Sachs later said in an interview with Fox News' Jesse Watters that he had exceeded his initial goal by $6 million.

Sachs said many Silicon Valley donors had never donated to either the Republican Party or Trump before the event, and noted that many feel Biden is “alienating people” in the industry because of his “very hostile program toward innovation” with advances like AI.
