EPA Taking Steps to Undermine the Basis of the Left’s ‘Climate Change Beliefs,’ Zeldin Claims

EPA Plans to Roll Back Danger Discovery

On Tuesday, EPA administrator Lee Zeldin announced that the agency intends to roll back the 2009 danger discovery related to climate change. During an appearance on a conservative podcast, he remarked that the current regulations impose significant costs on Americans and create strict rules for vehicles.

Zeldin pointed out that modern scientific data and public feedback will be taken into account as they consider changes to these regulations. He described the potential move as a fundamental challenge to what he termed the “climate change religion.” He argued that rescinding this discovery might mark one of the largest deregulatory actions in the history of the United States.

“Conservatives believe we can protect the environment and grow our economy,” Zeldin emphasized. “That isn’t an either/or situation. It’s about achieving both, which is what the American public wants.”

Zeldin plans to announce the formal proposal in Indianapolis, during a joint event with Indiana officials, including Republican representatives and the state’s attorney general, aimed at overturning regulations established during the Obama administration.

Following this announcement, the EPA, in coordination with the Office of Management and Budget, is set to work on reconsidering the danger discovery. Once the proposed changes are published, there will be a public comment period lasting at least 30 days, with an additional 60-day implementation delay for significant rules.
