The Miami Heat have signed head coach Erik Spoelstra to a record-breaking contract extension, securing the franchise's longest-serving coach for even more tenures.
According to the newspaper, Spoelstra and the Heat have agreed to an eight-year extension. Associated Pressmeanwhile ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the 53-year-old's new contract is worth more than $120 million. Overall against Miami, Spoelstra is looking good. 29th season, Meanwhile, he is currently in his 16th year as the Heat's head coach. He started working in the video room and was eventually promoted to scout and then assistant coach. In 2008, Spoelstra was selected by team president Pat Riley to succeed him as head coach.
As skipper, Spoelstra has two NBA championships (three franchise-wide) and six Finals appearances.
