Sedona, Arizona (3TV/CBS 5) –People in Camp Verde, Sedona, Rimrock and some areas around Lake Montezuma are allowed to return home after evacuation orders are lifted. However, some areas of Camp Verde remain under evacuation orders. Due to flooding, the following areas are in ‘GO’ state:
- North Verde River Drive west of I-17
- Verde River RV Resort
- wagon wheel trailer park
Coconino County has issued a warning to drivers on unpaved roads. The county said the combination of melting snow and recent rains has made some of the dirt roads very muddy. Officials are asking people to heed all posted road warnings and closures.
SR 89A between Sedona and Flagstaff was closed after rocks and rocks fell on the road, but reopened around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Meanwhile, in the Valley, Maricopa County closed more low-water crossings after flooding hit Wednesday. The storm, combined with recent water discharges from the SRP, means that the canyon crossing will see high water levels for several days.
Multiple areas are closed.
- Gilbert Road, North of Loop 202, Salt River
- McEllipse Road on the Salt River
- 67th Street and Broadway Road in Salt River
- 91st Street in Salt River
- El Mirage Road on the Gila River
Homeowners are urged to heed flood warnings and advisories from the National Weather Service. If you come across a flooded low river crossing or driveway, do not attempt to cross. Don’t forget to look back. don’t drown
