A former Walt Disney World employee has been charged with secretly filming a woman’s skirt upstairs after he told investigators he had filmed more than 500 videos in the past six years.
Jorge Diaz Vega, 26, who worked at the Star Wars gift shop inside Disney World’s Hollywood Studios theme park in Florida, was recently arrested on one count of video voyeurism.
According to court records filed by Orange County Sheriff’s Detectives, Vega was found by a witness videotaping the skirt of an 18-year-old woman. She later told security that she was unaware of Vega’s actions.
Detectives said Vega viewed the video as a “guilty pleasure” and volunteered during questioning to show multiple examples on his cell phone.
He was arrested on March 31 and released on $2,500 bail. Court records do not indicate whether Vega had an attorney and a current phone number could not be found.
Disney World said Sunday that Vega no longer works for the company.
The sheriff’s office delayed until Monday to comment on whether investigators are pursuing further charges against Vega.
The sheriff’s office and Disney declined to say if they were working to identify other women Vega allegedly filmed.
