Nicknamed “Pocket Rocket,” the 34-year-old was the eighth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He played a total of nine seasons in the National Football League, most of them with St. Louis. From 2019-2021, he spent one season each with the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and Jacksonville Jaguars. 2022He was on the Buffalo Bills practice squad before requesting his release.

Austin was known for being undersized, but extremely dangerous when it came to triple threats: receiving, running, and returning. In his professional career, he recorded a total of 2,239 receiving yards, 1,361 rushing yards, and 1,483 kickoff return yards. In addition to that, he recorded another 451 yards on punt returns. In scoring games, Austin recorded 16 receiving touchdowns, 10 rushing, and 3 returns.
