President Donald Trump is expected to appoint three experienced lawyers from Alabama as judicial officers for the US district court. This recommendation comes from Senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville, highlighting a group that includes prominent legal figures such as the Alabama Attorney General and judges from the Alabama Supreme Court.
In a press release on Tuesday, Britt expressed her confidence in these nominees to effectively represent Alabama.
“As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I have diligently worked to prioritize Alabama’s conservative values during our evaluation of federal judicial candidates,” Britt noted.
“To ensure the integrity of the judiciary, it’s vital that federal judges interpret and apply the law faithfully, based on the Constitution and legislation passed by Congress, rather than making changes from the bench. I strongly back President Trump’s nominees to fill the vacancies of three federal judges in Alabama,” she added.
I’m proud to work with you @Sentuberville. Recommend three exceptional Alabamians @potus. They will uphold the Constitution and ensure the safety of all Alabamians.

Tuberville expressed his belief that the White House has made excellent choices with these candidates.
“The White House has truly excelled with these Alabama nominees,” Tuberville remarked. “Since President Trump took office, activist judges have been attempting to obstruct his agenda. That simply won’t happen in Alabama under my watch. These candidates are dedicated to restoring law and order and ensuring safety for all Alabamians.”
Since President Trump took office, activist judges have done everything they can to stop President Trump’s agenda. It doesn’t happen in Alabama under my watch.
President Trump has made excellent choices with these Alabama candidates, and I have no doubt they’ll be beneficial…

Algop Chairman John Wahl also commended both the candidates and Trump for appointing conservative judges to important judicial posts.
“President Trump has reaffirmed his commitment to placing exceptionally qualified, principled conservatives on the federal bench. Judges Bill Lewis, Eddie Lakow, and Hal Muty exemplify a strong dedication to the Constitution and the rule of law,” Wahl said. “These judges interpret the law as it is written, avoiding the creation of new legislation from the bench, and they work to protect the rights and freedoms of all Alabamians. We’re grateful to Senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville for their leadership in nominating such outstanding individuals.”
“This is indeed a significant day for Alabama, and I have every confidence that these candidates will honor both our state and our country.”
The nominees recommended by Britt and Tuberville are:

Harold Muty, Nominated for US District Judge, Northern District
Harold “Hal” Muty is a partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, LLP, in Huntsville, specializing in business and commercial litigation. He was president of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association’s Young Lawyers Division from 2016 to 2017 and previously served on its Young Lawyers Executive Committee.
