Excessive heat warning continues into Tuesday | Weather

Tucson (KVOA) – Tucson issued an excessive heat warning on Tuesday ahead of another day of afternoon highs above 110 degrees Celsius.

It was the second time this year that the maximum temperature exceeded 110 degrees on Monday. Similar temperatures are expected again on Tuesday.

At this time, there are no warnings or precautions regarding excessive heat for the rest of the week. However, the next seven days will see afternoon highs between 107 and 111 degrees.

Overnight lows will not see a dramatic change. Tucson’s nightly population is expected to drop to 70-74 over the next week, while Cochise County will be in the low 60s.

A few drifting thunderstorms are likely to hit Cochise County tonight and tomorrow, but the rest of southern Arizona still doesn’t have all the ingredients for a monsoon storm.

  • Tonight: Mostly sunny and windy. Low: 76°
  • Tomorrow: Sunny, unusually hot. High: 110°
  • Tomorrow night: sunny, calm. Low: 75°
