Investigators arrested Heriberto Gonzalez Macias of Mexico near Fort Hancock, Texas, on Feb. 11 and learned of his “extensive” criminal history and gang affiliation, according to the memo. Gonzalez Macias' criminal history includes 15 years in prison for manslaughter in 1991 and 87 years in prison for illegally importing a firearm in 2006, according to a criminal complaint filed Feb. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. The Border Patrol memo said Gonzalez-Macias was previously convicted of manslaughter in 1995 and charged with first-degree murder in 2013, but no criminal charges were filed against him. It was listed.
