Sen. Tim Scott, R-South Carolina, Sen. James Lankford, R-Oklahoma, and Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-North Carolina, on Wednesday recognized that parents have a fundamental right to control their children's upbringing. submitted a bill.
The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the bill, titled the Family Rights and Responsibilities Act. Specifically, it prevents the federal government from interfering with parental rights without first passing stringent scrutiny tests, and prevents parents from exploiting violations of these rights in judicial or administrative proceedings at the federal or state level. will be allowed to do so.

Lankford echoed Scott's sentiments, saying parents shouldn't spend their days worrying about government overreach and that parents have the right to make decisions for their children.
“Mothers and fathers have the right and responsibility to decide what is best for their children. Good parents should not live in daily fear of their government. Parents' rights are threatened by federal government overreach. Families deserve a fair hearing in a court of law every time a child faces a child.
