The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned exclusively about an Indian man who allegedly defrauded an elderly American out of $100,000.
Abdul Waheed Mohamed, 31, entered the country in Chicago on December 12, 2019, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) paroled him and released him into the United States in February 2020, Immigration and Customs Enforcement said. Waheed Mohamed previously pleaded not guilty, which could result in up to 40 years in prison or an $80,000 fine. according to On to another local report.
“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers make enforcement decisions on a case-by-case basis in a professional and responsible manner based on their experience as law enforcement officers and how to best protect against the greatest threats to the homeland. ” an ICE spokesperson told DCNF.

The suspect is being held at the Pennington County Jail in Rapid City, South Dakota, according to ICE, which issued a detainer on Jan. 5 for the suspect into federal custody.
ICE's removal operations conducted 170,590 administrative arrests in fiscal year 2023. according to to agency data.
