EXCLUSIVE: Ted Cruz campaign accuses political opponent of violating federal law with Chuck Schumer, fellow Democrats

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign filed a complaint Thursday with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against Democratic Rep. Colin Allred. The senator alleges that his opponent is conducting illegal activities in coordination with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).

The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the indictment, which alleges Allred and his Senate campaign illegally coordinated with Schumer and DSCC on television ads, exceeding spending limits for the coordinated parties. It is stated that this could result in excessive in-kind donations amounting to millions of dollars. From DSCC to All Red.

The complaint specifically mentions four ads that the Cruise campaign believes meet the criteria to qualify as “hybrid ads.” The camp argues that DSCC should be held accountable for allegedly submitting advisory opinions to the commission under false pretenses and for making statements that it is not currently complying with.

“Colin Allred’s campaign is illegally collaborating with Chuck Schumer and the DSCC.
