‘Extremely Unusual’: House Judiciary Committee Unable To Locate Nathan Wade To Testify In Fani Willis Investigation

The House Judiciary Committee has so far been unable to locate Nathan Wade and issue a subpoena, a spokesman told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The committee, which is seeking testimony as part of its investigation into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, is having difficulty serving a subpoena on Wade, “highly unusual,” spokesman Russell Dye told the DCNF. After the defendants sought to remove Willis from the case because of her relationship with Wade, a judge in March ordered Wade to step down from his position in the election interference case against former President Donald Trump as a condition of allowing Willis to remain on the case.

“The Judiciary Committee has served over 100 subpoenas this Congress,” Dye said in a statement to the DCNF. “For the most part, we have accomplished this without controversy or the need to use U.S. Marshals.”

“Nathan Wade's draft evasion is highly unusual and the commission will likely need to use American tax dollars to track him down,” Dye said.

If the committee needs to hire private investigators or send personnel to locate Wade, it will have to spend taxpayer money. (Related: Fani Willis defies subpoena from state investigative committee to attend Congressional Black Caucus event in Washington DC)

In February, the committee subpoenaed Willis for documents related to possible misuse of federal funds. Willis didn't receive the subpoena via email, so marshals had no choice but to deliver it to him in person, The Daily Caller reported at the time.

According to contract documents obtained by the DCNF, Willis offered Wade a higher fee than Georgia's top fraud expert, who was also working on the case. (RELATED: Report: Georgia police arrest Fani Willis' daughter after Nathan Wade allegedly shows up at the scene)

Meanwhile, Willis ignored a subpoena from a Georgia Senate committee investigating her alleged misconduct on September 13th, instead attending the Congressional Black Caucus' legislative conference in Washington, DC.

Nathan Wade did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
