Mojave County Sheriff’s Department agents have charged 44-year-old Jared Ray Burton Rice of Medford, Oregon with dangerous drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession, both felonies, misdemeanor prescription drug possession, and sex crimes. Arrested on valid warrant for failure to register as a person.
On Monday (March 13), delegates were clearing intruders from under a bridge on Highway 95 near Azteca Road. A record check on Rice revealed an active arrest warrant from 2018. Rice was recently listed as a homeless registered sex offender staying in the Fort Mojave area.
A pat search revealed a small stench with a white residue. A search of Rice’s backpack found about 16 grams of presumed positive methamphetamine, his stuff. Non-prescription drugs were found, as well as various drug paraphernalia.
Jared Ray Burton Rice was arrested without incident and transferred to an adult detention facility in Mojave County.
