A 1-year-old girl in Arizona has tragically died after being run over by her mother while moving her car. The incident occurred near her home in the Cottonwood family. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department received a call on Thursday, July 6, from a woman who said she “run over her 13-month-old baby with a car.” The girl has been identified as 13-month-old Saira Rose Torming, according to the Daily Mail.
“Yesterday morning, YCSO lawmakers responded to a tragic 911 call from a mother in Western Doctor, Cottonwood, who reported that she had run over her 13-month-old baby with her car. It was parked on a gravel road next door, the Yavapai County Sheriff said in a statement that the mother placed her child in a child seat where she felt safe while maneuvering through tight spaces.
“While repositioning the vehicle, the front tire got caught in the child seat canopy, causing the vehicle to fall backwards and seriously injuring the infant. Medical personnel were administering life support to the infant when the YCSO arrived. However, despite their heroic efforts, the infant was pronounced dead at Verde Valley Medical Center.” The YCSO Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating the case. No further information has been released.

Her uncle described the girl as “a light in the world who brought her smile to everyone she met”. “She passed away on July 6, 2023 in a very tragic car accident. During her short but beautiful life, she loved spending time outdoors, playing with nature, her family, animals and water. I loved her so much, and who didn’t give her the best smile just for a moment with her,” he wrote.
He added, “No matter how you feel, she will make your day better. The donation will go directly to her parents for the final cost, helping to make this very difficult. It will take some of the burden off her parents during this difficult time. There’s never been a better time for a tragedy like this to happen, but there’s never been a worse time for her family.”
