Jackson Elliott was killed, and Jet Winestein lost his right foot when the car he had driven a year ago collided with a controversial guardrail along the I-17.
Phoenix -The state of Arizona and Trinity Industry, a controversial guardrail manufacturer, faced a lawsuit one year after a teenager died, and another person was a crash drop in the I -17. I lost.
JAXSON Elliot and Jettt Weinstein were on their way home from the flag staff when they collided with ET-PLUS Guardrail. The photo of the crash scene shows the guardrail on the car passenger premises.

Currently, Winestein, parents, and Elliott’s parents are claiming that the entity is negligent and appeals to the state of Arizona and Trinity Industry.
“The crash was clearly possible,” said Winestein and his family lawyer, James Fussetra.
ET-PLUS has room for about 10 years. The 2015 collective lawsuit against Trinity claimed a design defect. It was resolved for $ 56 million in 2022. The company agreed to pay for the guardrail that was found and exchanged on a road in Missouri.
A new lawsuit submitted on Monday by Winestein and Elliott’s family lawyer claims that guardrails are “defective” or “unjustly dangerous.”
“Instead of being a shield, it drilled a hole in the vehicle. The whole point of these endcaps on the guardrail is that someone falls asleep or bends for some reason, and for piercings. It happened here. ”
Trinity Industries Spokesman has repeated many of the previous statements to 12news of ET-PLU.
“ET-PLU is the most tested highway safety product of this kind. The Federal Expressway Bureau continues to use the product and ET-PLUS is all applied. Again, it would be not appropriate to comment on the ongoing litigation.
Adot said he did not comment on the pending lawsuit.
However, 12news reported in February last year that ADOT had deleted ET-PLU from a product list approved in 2014 when the Federal Expressway Bureau investigated ET-PLU. Eventually, the Federal Expressway Bureau has discovered that the guardrail has met the “applicable safety standards.”
Currently, according to Adot, the 3,933 ET-PLUS END terminal is used on the state highway. This has decreased from more than 4,100 12 NEWS reported last year. ADOT says that 12news has been replaced in the past when GUARDRAILS is replaced or a new construction is performed.
“Wine Stein and I know the Elliott family. They want to make Arizona’s expressway safe for anyone,” said Fusetra.
