A viral video that has nearly 8 million views on TikTok appears to show Sam Smith crowdsurfing and planting his face when the crowd fails to catch him after a stagedive.
But is it really him?
Fans were easily tricked into believing the hoax video, but it’s hard to blame them. The video, posted by @brandonlatham5, is captioned “Sam Smith stage diving in Seattle” and shows a man who looks like the singer. The man wears a neon green, seemingly inflatable costume. The video shows him jumping off the stage and failing spectacularly.

The disastrous results were enough to disgust everyone, and eventually a crowdsurfing video that was all a joke took the social media by storm.
The stunt apparently backfired, as the concert crowd was unable to catch him and the jumper crashed hard to the ground.
However, Sam Smith fans need not worry. The stuntman was later revealed to be a man who attended the Vanilla Ice concert in Oregon on Saturday, The New York Post reported. report. Most people would agree, video jumpers look a lot like stars.
