‘F*ck The Media’: Protesters Surround British Sky News Reporter During Live Segment

A British news reporter and his crew were surrounded and chased away by a gang of minorities who apparently tried to attack their vehicle during a protest live on air.

Becky Johnson, a community correspondent for the UK's Sky News, was surrounded this afternoon in Birmingham, England, while covering a counter-demonstration to one of the anti-immigration protests sweeping across the UK. The station reports that masked men yelled abuse at the camera, forcing the broadcast to be cut short. report.

Several young people broke away from a large, apparently Muslim-majority protest in Britain's second-largest city, chanting “Allahu Akbar” repeatedly. Reports A Telegraph journalist shouted “Fuck the media” into the camera before approaching the crew, while another journalist made a “pointing finger” gesture before the television cut back to the studio. The reporter and his crew apparently escaped unharmed. picture Footage released by Sky appears to show a protester wearing a balaclava trying unsuccessfully to slash the tyres of a broadcaster vehicle.

The unrest that began with the murder of three young girls by Axel Rudakubana, the son of Rwandan immigrants, in the town of Southport has spread to towns and cities across the UK, with anti-immigrant protests and counter-protests frequently turning violent and more than 400 people reportedly being arrested.
