Daily Caller News Foundation reporter Jenny Tarr told Sky News Australia on Thursday that federal authorities do not know exactly how many Palestinians are crossing the US border illegally.
Federal border authorities are arresting Palestinian immigrants who entered the United States illegally and treating them as other nationalities, including Israeli, this reporter exclusively reported on Wednesday. The revelations came on the heels of a DCNF report that warned of possible encounters by Border Patrol with Hamas, Hezbollah and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists on the southern border. “US federal border officials are warning that these terrorists may be taking advantage of the current situation at our southern border to enter the US illegally,” this reporter told Sky News Australia host James -Told Morrow.
“The situation is that we have no idea how many Palestinians are being encountered, because the US does not recognize Palestine as a state,” the reporter said.
The Border Patrol’s internal system for recording migrants’ countries of origin does not include Palestine, Gaza or the West Bank, according to recent internal system screenshots obtained by DCNF. One agent who previously arrested migrants with Palestinian Authority passports told DCNF that he classified them as coming from Israel.
“When country of origin is recorded, even if a migrant has a passport issued by the Palestinian Authority, if they have documentation they are usually classified as Israeli… it is just the closest option. For a reason,” said this reporter.
Illegal immigration continues to soar, with more than 2 million total migrants expected to be encountered at the southern border by the end of fiscal year 2023. according to to federal data.
