The Trump administration has revealed previously classified documents detailing the federal government’s past plans to use the ghosts of “domestic terrorism” to limit gun ownership.
National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard has announced that former President Joe Biden’s administration has declassified a document entitled “Strategic Implementation Plan to Counter Domestic Terrorism.” xPost Wednesday. The previous paragraph of the document listed various “intended” goals of counterterrorism strategies. One was to avoid becoming domestic terrorists by ensuring that “Americans are increasing their faith in democracy and government.” The other goal was to “strengthen civic education that promotes democratic resilience” and “increased intervention and care for those who pose risks to themselves and others.”
The document also reflects the Biden administration’s focus on “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists (RMVEs),” and does not refer to any other specific ideologies as concern. After forming a task force focused on some tasks, Gabbard released the files as part of its focus on confidentiality of government materials.
