Fenton Man Who Threatened Police in Custody

Police have arrested a Bloom County man who posted a series of threats to law enforcement online.

The 36-year-old North Fenton resident was found more than 24 hours after the search began. He was found on Route 79 not far from his home shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday.

“No injuries have been reported to either the man or the police,” according to state police updates.

The man, whose name has not been released by authorities, was detained “without incident”. The man was evacuated from the scene by state police, who declined to say whether he was carrying a weapon when he was found.

Officers were dispatched to North Fenton’s home shortly after noon Wednesday to check on the man, who is suspected of threatening to kill police officers.

A large-scale search was conducted in the area after the man left his home along Route 79. Police thought he may have been armed with an AR-style rifle and possibly other weapons.
