Film Fest presents ‘Small Things Like These’ premiere Nov. 8-14

sedona news – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “Small Things Like These,” which will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theater from Nov. 8-14.

Oscar winner Cillian Murphy brilliantly plays devoted father Bill Furlong in Small Things Like These, based on Claire Keegan’s best-selling novel of the same name. The film also stars Emily Watson, Michelle Fairley, and Eileen Walsh.

In 1985, devoted father Bill Furlong (Cillian Murphy) discovers the disturbing secrets kept by his local convent, and also reveals shocking truths about himself, revealing his past and the Catholic Church’s He is forced to confront the complicit silence of the small Irish town he controls.

The film reveals the truth about Ireland’s Magdalene Laundries, which were run by Roman Catholic institutions from the 1820s until 1996, ostensibly to rehabilitate “depraved young women.”

“Small Things Like These” will be performed at the Mary D. Fisher Theater from November 8th to 14th. Show times are Friday, Sunday, and Monday, November 8, 10, and 11 at 7 p.m. Saturday, Wednesday, and Thursday, November 9, 13, and 14 at 1 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 4 p.m.
