Fire restrictions lifted in parts of Coconino National Forest

State officials in northern Arizona, including the city of Flagstaff and the Coconino National Forest, recently lifted certain fire restrictions that had been in place for the past month.

Officials said the decision to lift fire restrictions, which took effect Friday morning, was driven in part by increased rainfall across the region and continuing monsoon storms.

Officials added that the lifting also applies to unincorporated communities and recreational areas within the region.

Despite this law, park rangers have not yet adopted any laws in some areas of the Coconino National Forest. Permanent restrictions are in place throughout the year.
