Firewood permit sales began Friday, May 5, 2023 at Coconino National Forest. Sales will begin on Saturday, May 6, according to people familiar with the matter.
Permits permit the felling of feathers and dead trees, or certain types of standing trees, in designated areas. Each permit allows up to 12 codes per household.
Oak, Aspen, Juniper, and Maple are $5 per cord, Pine and Mixed Softwoods are $2.50 per cord. Purchases can be made by phone or in person at Coconino National Forest offices, including Flagstaff Ranger Station and Forester’s Office, Red Rock Ranger Station and Mogollon Rim Ranger Station.
