First look: Texas adding SEC logos to its field

The 2024-25 SEC football season is highly anticipated for a variety of reasons.

Division-free football, new television networks and the simple glory of football being back is enough to get fans excited.

As if that weren't enough, this year also marks the first season in which the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma will join the ranks of college football's premier conferences.

Texas is beginning to prepare for its inaugural football season in the Southeastern Conference as photos surfaced online of the SEC logo being added to Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Each current SEC team will face either Texas or Oklahoma during the upcoming season.

Neither Alabama nor Auburn will play Texas during the 2024 season, with both teams instead playing Oklahoma (Alabama will travel to Norman and Auburn will host the Sooners).

Texas will play its first SEC game on Sept. 28 at home against Mississippi State before heading to Georgia State three weeks later on Oct. 19 at home.
