What a legendary catch!

Two fishermen doing their own thing in the outer bank of North Carolina, North Carolina, had one experience when they caught a huge great white shark weighing over a whopping 1,000 pounds. (Related: How does a crocodile found in a motel room after the owner “losts”… loses an alligator?)

Fishing on the beach on Hatteras Island, Jason Rosenfeld and Luke Beard caught the apex predator on March 15th.

“I put the hook on the fish and it just felt different,” Beard said. wtkr. “I’m still on Cloud9. So I mean, I’m probably here for the rest of my life.”

Jason and Luke have been fishing together for decades at this point, and even they needed special help to attract the giants. It took about 35 minutes of seven to get the sucker in.

“I have dreamed of this day for most of my life!” I wrote my beard on a Facebook post. “This is the first great land-based white in the history of Hatteras Island! I would like to thank all my friends who were involved in this catch! The white shark is a mysterious and beautiful animal.”

I don’t know if my family and I will take vacation this year, but if that’s the case, just because there’s so much we need to pay… this is the year I need to overcome my fear of being seasick.
